Mowgli Street Food brings the vibrant flavours of Indian street food to the UK, serving fresh, home-style dishes in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Founded by celebrity chef and author Nisha Katona, the restaurant group has built a loyal following through its authentic food, strong community ethos and give-back initiative, Mowgli Magic.

Challenge

As social media behaviours evolved, Mowgli wanted to attract a younger audience and reignite engagement across its channels without losing the authenticity, warmth and sense of community that made the brand distinctive. The challenge was to refresh and future-proof its social media strategy while continuing to serve its highly engaged core customer base.

Solution

We developed and delivered a full-service social media programme designed to showcase the Mowgli experience authentically and strengthen the brand’s connection with its audience. Guided by the principle of expectation assimilation, our content aimed to reflect the restaurant experience, capturing the warmth, energy and community that define the brand.

Social Strategy and Content Framework

To increase relevance and engagement among Gen Z audiences, we created a capsule content ecosystem that captured stories from every corner of the brand, from food and Nisha to local restaurants, community initiatives, influencers, trends and guest-generated content.

We established a distinct tone of voice that balanced Mowgli’s warmth and authenticity with greater appeal to younger audiences. A channel-first posting strategy positioned Instagram as the brand’s home for storytelling and TikTok as the discovery engine for culture, trends and localised content. This was supported by a scalable content framework designed to increase relevance and engagement while protecting the community-led values at the heart of the brand.

Content Production and Community Management

We managed fortnightly content shoots, overseeing every stage of production, from concept development, shot lists, pre-production and planning to location and asset coordination, on-site creative direction and post-production. This created a consistent pipeline of high-quality, on-brand content that captured the atmosphere, food and community at the heart of Mowgli.

Alongside content production, we provided ongoing community management to help Mowgli build engagement, respond to customers and foster meaningful conversations across its social channels.

The fast-paced hospitality sector also called for an agile approach. From new menu launches and seasonal campaigns to limited time offers and reactive business requests, we regularly planned, created, approved and published content within tight deadlines. By combining strategic planning with rapid execution, we helped Mowgli stay relevant and responsive while maintaining high creative standards across every touchpoint.

The refreshed social strategy increased Mowgli’s relevance among younger audiences while strengthening engagement across its core social channels. Over three months, the new content ecosystem generated significant reach, community growth and early momentum with Gen Z audiences.
