How do we grow our team whilst adding to and maintaining the culture we all love?

At Leopard Co, we aren’t just trying to fill gaps, we’re trying to find people who bring new experience, ways of thinking and embody our values. We’re on the lookout for people who will complement our team, not replicate them. It’s no small task, but we think we’re doing a pretty good job!

So, how do we do it? 

Our recruitment process has a lot to do with our success and is something we’re always working to improve both for the Leopard team and for our candidates, all whilst keeping our values front of mind: Inspired, Purposeful, Sharp, and With Integrity.

Recruitment processes can be arduous, with endless stages and scattered communication. We’ve worked hard to make our process as smooth and respectful as possible, with every applicant receiving a response as soon as our (very) small team has reviewed all submissions.

192 applications were made for our most recent Internship; that’s a lot of people who have put time and effort in to apply for the role and we believe each one deserves a fair review. Could we have just closed the job listing early after seeing a few good options? Probably, but that isn’t how we’re going to find the best person for the job or for the team at Leopard.

We work hard not to be complacent; we put thought, time and effort into talent attraction. The perfect CV, network or degree isn’t always what we’re looking for and our Open House events and Talent Spot programme enable those looking for their first role in the industry to get to know the team and to make an impression.

At our Open House, we have speakers from our PR and Social, Digital Marketing, Studio and Design teams sharing tips, insights and their personal career journeys and an opportunity to ‘speed network’ with our team. Our next Open House event will take place on May 13th from 5pm.

Ever wondered what really goes on behind the scenes at a full-service marketing agency?

Talent Spot is our three-day immersive work experience programme, carefully designed to give new talent a real taste of agency life. Successful candidates will work on client briefs and collaborate with our studio and digital marketing teams under the expert guidance of a Leopard mentor.

These touchpoints give us insight into how someone would fit with the team culturally, where they’d add value and experience, and Talent Spot shows us candidates’ work style and abilities. Taking part in these opportunities doesn’t automatically ensure an interview for an internship or entry level role, however, but it can definitely help someone standout.

This commitment and investment to hiring pays off, as demonstrated by the fact that our last two interns are now fulltime members of the pack!
