Challenge

Salts Healthcare is a Birmingham-based business that designs, manufactures and supplies stoma care (ostomy) products and continence supplies as well as offering holistic support.

We were briefed to deliver a one-hour Social Media Training session to Salts Healthcare brand advocates to empower them to use socials to share their personal stories and experiences to raise awareness.

Two key challenges emerged:

  1. Tailoring the session to suit all abilities and confidence levels to be accessible to all –  from complete beginners to experienced  social media users.

  2. Handling a highly sensitively subject matter – stoma care involves deeply personal health experiences, privacy concerns and potential sigma. The training needed to strike a balance between encouraging openness while  respecting boundaries of what advocates are  comfortable sharing.

Solution

To address the challenges, we designed an interactive training session broken into bite-sized segments, to build confidence and practical skills. Our approach emphasised the value of both personal stories and social media for advocacy. We also demonstrated best practices for creating authentic, compelling content and provided inspiration for storytelling in ways that feel comfortable and empowering.

By blending education with creativity, we equipped Salts’ brand advocates with the tools and confidence to share their experiences thoughtfully and support future campaigns in a way that aligns with the brand’s tone and community values. In addition, the breakout sessions also kept the session engaging and allowed time for the advocates to have one-on-one time with our social media specialists.

Impact

The training was extremely well received by Salts Healthcare brand advocates, who praised the session for being practical, engaging and confidence-building. Feedback highlighted the content struck the right balance between education and sensitivity. The client noted “they knew that Leopard was very Salts’ in their style” and delivered the session exactly as needed, reinforcing trust in our approach and settling the foundation for future collaboration.
