Discover how we supported Grenade's successful launch in Canadian big-box retailers with our Fuel Your Summer campaign, featuring a large-scale sampling activation and an influencer fitness event in Toronto.
Challenge
Grenade recently took its business to the next level by launching, for the first time, in big-box retailers Shoppers, Loblaws and Walmart in Canada! We helped support their larger campaign, Fuel Your Summer, to activate sampling and a fitness influencer event in Toronto, thanks to our handy Canadian recruit, Carrie Rotenberg who leveraged her network, industry know-how and local market knowledge.
Solution
Starting in August, we activated a large-scale guerilla sampling activation in Toronto’s Trinity Bellwoods park (think Central Park, but in Toronto!), handing out bars to active park-goers looking to fuel up.
In the end, we handed out 1,000 bars while also getting newsletter sign-ups along the way. Thanks to their incredible taste, Grenade bars were a huge hit, with consumers sharing that it was, “the best bar they had ever tasted” and asking, “where can I buy more?”
Influencer Fitness Event
Continuing the momentum, in September we held an influencer fitness event at a downtown gym, Academy of Lions. Hosted by the incredible athlete, @LittleTFitness, she took 27 fitness influencers through a dynamic and fun class, complete with on-site product sampling, photo opps and gift bags.
The event was a smash success, with attendees getting to train with one of the best in the world, while also enjoying their favourite Grenade products.
Impact
The campaign was a great success, attracting 27 influencers (with a total following of 2.3m), delivering 7.9m impressions!
Using an agency based in the UK that can activate in Canada is a great fit for us. Leopard Co already knew us inside and out and was able to bring that knowledge to a new market. This level of brand and product understanding made the process seamless.
